Black Friday

Check out that snot bubble
He likes to snort when he is eating for some reason

So I never thought i'd be one of those people that stand in line all night to buy something on sale. Well I thought wrong. We have been wanting and needing new couch's for quite some time now. I went shopping ahead of time and the plan was that on friday we would go buy couch's. Well thursday we were looking through the RC Willey ad and found some couch's we really liked. So sure enough we packed some blankets, sleeping bags, lay out chairs, hot chocolate, pillows and headed to RC Willey's. Ryker spent the night with my parents. We got there at about midnight and there was already a line. It was actually fun and way worth it. We got in our sleeping bags and blankets and went to sleep. 8 hours later the doors opened and we bought the couch's and saved $1000.00. That was about all the shopping we did on Black Friday. We found Ryker's first tooth last Sunday and then Friday afternoon he decided to start crawling. It isn't very coordinated yet but he is moving forward and getting his knees and hands moved. It is very cute and I was so excited.

My Count Down to Christmas

Our Cute Turkeys

I have been loving doing crafts lately. This week I had a girls day with Kere and we went to Wood Connections and got us some crafts to make. Saturday night we put them all together. Rustin went and had a guys night Saturday with his friends from high school and they played poker. Rustin wanted to bring Ryker with him, so I got to do my crafts with no interruptions. Rustin said Ryker sat on the boys laps and chewed on poker chips all night and he loved it. We went to Park City a few weekends ago with Jared, Ashley and Cohen and spent the night up there. It was way fun. We went out to eat, played in the pool, shopped, and just hung out. Ryker and Cohen are going to be best buds. Halloween was fun. Ryker was a monkey and we went around to the grandparents and showed him off. Ryker is learning how to move around the house. He scoots backwards and rolls to what he wants. He is dong push ups a lot and trying to figure out how to go forward. He is growing up fast and seems to be constantly getting more mobile.

6 months and ready to Roll!

First Hair Cut

Makayla Hood

Ryker turned 6 months old. Crazy how fast time is flying. He weighed in at 17 lbs 6 oz and is 26 inches tall. We got his pictures taken and they are adorable. He is so good everytime. He is getting more fun everyday. He decided he was ready to start rolling last Sunday and now he is rolling all the time. He holds his bottle when he eats and can sit up on his own. He got his first hair cut today. His awesome aunt Sandy cut it for him. She is the one that watches him while I'm at work. She is the best and is getting married on Thursday. He is being a monkey for Halloween, it is so cute. We got some pictures of him in his costume. Rustin and I are going on a cruise in January with a bunch of our friends. We decided to get scuba certified so we can scuba dive on our cruise. We just finished the class on Thursday and can't wait to swim with some fish. My sister Tiffany had her baby on Wednesday. She let me and my mom be in there while Makayla was born. She weighs 7 lbs 13 oz and is 20 inches long. She came at 11:12 p.m. She is beautiful with lots of dark brown hair. She is going to be the little angel of their home and she is going to get spoiled. There are 10 boys under the age of 5 on my mom's side and this is the first girl.

Attempting to Eat Peas

I missed the shrimp and it hit me in the face

We celebrated our 2 year anniversary last month. I can't believe it has been that long already. We went out to eat at Tepanyaki's and then saw GI Joe, went swimming and spent the night in Salt Lake. The next day we were going to go to Cowabunga Bay but it was raining that morning so it was closed. We headed up to Park City and shopped and went to see Harry Potter, went swimming, ate, and had a blast. Rustin surprised me and we spent the night in Park City. It was a great break from being a mom. I got to sleep without having to wake up and feed Ryker.

So I have the most crafty mom, sister and aunt. They have been helping me lately at making all sorts of crafts. I am so excited about it and I have been having so much fun making everything that I had to show them off. We found the coolest store in Salt Lake that sells the wood and then you just paint it and put it together. So easy and fun.

Our backyard grass is no good, so we are starting over. We bought the house in January and the grass just plain sucks. We are killing the backyard and planting new grass for Ryker to have a backyard to play in next summer. So the hardwork starts tonight, I'm kind of dreading it but I can't wait for good grass that we can play in. School also started for both us, not fun. It seems to be going good so far. Ryker is growing so fast and loves to play with toys now. He just turned 5 month and is laughing, smiling and babbling all the time.

Eating Rice Cereal for the 1st time

Rustin's Birthday

July has been a busy month for us. We painted our kitchen and living room, and I finally feel like the house is almost completely decorated. It has taken quit awhile but it's been fun. We went to Farmington Days with Rustin family and got to ride a helicopter it was awesome. We flew over the mountains, Lagoon, and Farmington. Then that weekend we went to Bear Lake with my family for a few days. It was a lot of fun. We boated and played all day. Ryker did great being on the boat in his life jacket, he just slept most of the time. Rustin turned 24 on the 23rd of July. Then this last weekend we headed back up to Bear Lake with Rustin's family. We boated one day and played at the pool with the kids then went to Minnetonka Cave. This summer has been a blast but super busy. We start school again in a few weeks and life will get even crazier. Ryker is so much fun. We love being parents and watching him learn new things. He is starting to figure out how to grab things. He babbles a lot and we can make him giggle. He is sleeping better at night and getting on more of a nap schedule during the day. We started trying rice cereal and he hasn't quit figured out how to eat it yet but he's learning. We go to his 4 month appt on Friday.

Our first drive-inn with Ryker

Ryker is growing so fast and is smiling and laughing. more each day He loves to sit up in his bumbo. He is holding his head up great and sleeping really well at night. We went camping this weekend with the Miller's. It was a lot of fun. We went fishing, played games, went hiking and ate great food. Ryker does great camping and loves being outside. I started working again. It hasn't been to bad, we've been lucky enough to have family watch him. I felt a little rusty the first few days but it's all coming back fast and the hospital has been very busy. I've been painting the kitchen and family room. I just need to touch up a few spots and I'll post some pictures. Rustin went to Moab last weekend for a Father-Son fast pitch tournament, I didn't like not having him home but he had a lot of fun and it was a nice weekend with his dad. Ryker is the joy of our life and we feel so blessed. We are enjoying our summer and our time off of school.

Blessing Day!

Rykers new toy

Four Generations

Grandma and her four grandsons

My family went camping over Memorial Day weekend. It was way fun. We went fourwheeling, ate delicious food, watched movies, played games, and roasted smores. The weather was a little cold but the rain held out until Sunday. Ryker did great for his first camping trip and there were plenty of babysitters. We blessed Ryker on Sunday. It was a great day. Lots of family and friends there to support Ryker and us. Rustin did a great job. Also be bought a new car, well a Toyota Sequia to be exact. We decided we wanted an SUV and one with a third row, we felt really good about it and that that was what we were suppose to buy. So we found a great deal and bought it. Rustin's car is still up for sale on KSL if anyone wants to buy it or knows someone who does. Im going back to work next week just one day. I still have 3 weeks left of maternity leave but thought it would be good to ease back into work. I hope I don't have a breakdown and start crying at work or be paranoid and call the babysitter every few hours. We'll see how it goes and I may pick up two days a week. This summer has been fun and a great break from school. Were getting lots done on the house and still have a ton more to do. Ryker is smiling more and loves to stare at things and is starting to play more. He weighed 12 lbs, was 22 1/2 inchs at his 2 month checkup. He's in the 50% for his height and weight and 45% for his head. He is such a blessing in our lives and he is teaching us so much.

First time at the pool

Ryker and his cousin Miles

Jessica, Miles, Ashley, Ryker, Sandy
We went to the Farmington pool today because Rustins dad opened it up for us. So his sister Sandy and Jessica and her son Miles and Ryker and I went swimming. It was Ryker at Miles first time. Lots of fun. They both liked the water. Ryker wasn't so sure at first, because it was a little cold but he got use to it and just sat there wide awake the whole time. Ryker is growing fast and is so fun. He is such a blessing in our home and always makes us smile. We have been working on the yard, it sucks. But it is starting to look really good. The grass is green finally, there are less weeds, and the plants and flowers are growing. We pulled weeds tonight and still have alot more work to do. We are blessing Ryker on the 31st and so we are trying to get the yard fixed up for that. It has been alot of fun owning a home and a lot more work than we realized. Life is great and we are loving and enjoying our time off of school and being parents.

Ryker Rustin Miller

Bili Lights
Rustin found Ryker sleeping like this
Baby Cohen
Ryker and his cousin Cohen
The Champs!
I am very slow at updating our blog. Here is how life has been since Ryker was born. The morning of April 2nd I was having cramping. The Dr kept telling us that if I was having any contractions to come in and they wouldn't send me home. The problem was that I didn't know what the contractions would feel like. So Rustin told me that if I was hurting at all to wake him up and we'd go in. So I waited about an hour and the cramping wasn't stopping so I woke up Rustin. We waited about another 20 min and called the hospital, they told us to come in and be checked. We got to the hospital at about 5:30 and got checked, I was a 4 and almost all the way thinned. They Kept Us! Woo Hoo! So at 7:30 they started the pitocin. I got the epidural at about 8:00. The Dr came in a little bit later and broke my water and then we just hung out. I wasn't in any pain, the worse it got was a little cramping. The nurse told me to push my pain button because to make sure the epidural was working since I could lift my legs off the bed and I wasn't very numb. I pushed it alot and started slurring my words Rustin said. Ha ha I was getting pretty tired and loopy. I hit a 10 around 11:30 but there was an anterior lip they said on my cervix that needed to go away before I could start to push. It took about an hour and a half for that to go away. The Dr was in doing a C-Section so we rested and desended while we waited for him. Then it was time to push, I was sleeping through all the resting and desending and had to stop pushing the button so I would have the energy to push. We pushed with the nurse for about 7 contractions. Then the Dr came in put on him whole armor. Boots to his knees, the gown, gloves, hat, face mask that covered his eyes. He was fully covered for this event. We pushed once and he told me to stop because the baby was ready to come and the nurses to clean him up weren't in the room yet. They came in and I pushed about 2 more times and he was out. All white and screaming! The doctor had blood all over him and it went as high as his goggles covering his eyes, he must have known this can get messy:) 2:14 pm 8lbs 7oz 20 1/2 inches. The Dr then stitched me up, he said I tore about 2-3 inches and was way swollen. So since then we have been loving every minute of being parents. From being pee'd on, to staying up at night trying to breast feed, to the 24/7 observation while under the bili lights. He had jaundice and had to be under the bili lights Sunday and Monday after we got home, that was no fun and all the visitors couldn't hold him:( He is doing great and growing good and were getting better at breast feeding, that is that hardest part of this whole thing I think. We got pictures on Saturday so we can do birth announcments. And yesterday his cousin Cohen was born, Jared and Ashley's baby. Rustin had an alumni tournamanent at Northridge all last week and they won it. And Rustin is going to be in Bear Lake this weekend for a party for his friend Jordan that is getting married in about a week. This is the second time since we've been married that he has been gone so good thing Ryker is here to keep me company. Life is great and school gets over this week. Rustin has 5 finals he has to take this week:( Then we have the summer to play and work on the house.

Showers, stitches, babies room and a 4!!!

We were at a ward activity at the Roy Aquatic Center a week ago and Rustin went into play racquetball and as he walked through the door he bent down to pick up a racket and the chain from the door was broke and swung and caught his nose right as he bent down and it ripped his nose open. So we had to go get stitches that night. They gave him a shot in the tip of his nose about 3 times and the doctor told him this was the worse pain he would ever feel. It was pretty horrible and then he got 3 stitches. I took the stitches out on Friday and his nose it looking beautiful:) We finally finished the babies room and we love it. Painting was a little rough but we learned a lot. Everything is ready now if he would just decide to come already. I went to the doctor yesterday and I am dilated to a 4 and 75% thinned. Were scheduled Saturday morning to be induced if I don't go before then. The doctor thinks he'll see me before Saturday though. So last night I bounced on an exercising ball during half of the Twilight movie. Today I walked McKay Dee Hospital for about an hour, all trying to help Ryker come out. I passed my Doctor twice while I was walking and the second time he asked if I was doing laps. I told him yes and I was trying to go into labor, he laughed and asked if I was having contractions yet. I had some that were painful last night but they weren't happening frequently enough. He said that when I start having contractions to come in and he promises they won't send me home. So I am currently bouncing on the ball again trying to get the contractions to come. I had 4 showers over the past 2 weeks, they were great and thanks to everyone who came. We are so blessed to have such great friends and family and so much support we will keep everyone updated on the baby when he decided to come.

This is the front room, right when you walk in the house.

So I have really been slacking at this Blogging. Here is the latest. I went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 2, that is very exciting it means we are getting closer to being parents. I was a 0 on Thursday so I feel like I am making great progress. My doctor is going out of town on the 8th and I am due on the 10th so if all goes well we will be induced on the 3rd, I am hoping that he will just come on his own before that though! He is still really high and as hard as we try he doesn't seem like he wants to drop yet. So this is what we've done since the last post. We painted the kitchen and started painting the babies room. We went to St George this weekend for Spring Break to hang out with my Grandma Veigel. She is so much fun to hang out with and it was great to see her. It was warm down there and felt great outside. We test drove some vehicles and went to see Paul Blart Mall Cop, it was a great show we laughed the whole time. For Valentines we went up to Rustins Grandparents cabin in Bear Lake with some friends. We went sledding, played the Wii and XBox, games, watched each others wedding videos and ate an amazing Dinner thanks to Sarah. The house is amazing and it has been so much fun so far, we are still working on decorating but we are getting close. Rustin is being a great sport about painting:)

30 weeks down 10 more to go!

30 Weeks!
FOR SALE!!!

Rustin keeps reminding me that I need to update our blog but I am not very good at it. Here is what is new. I am 30 weeks and still growing. Being pregnant has been a lot of fun. He sticks his butt up sometimes and makes my stomach totally lopsided and loves to kick me the hardest when I have the laptop laying on my stomach. We went and registered yesterday and it got me even more excited. I found bedding that I like which is great because I have been stressing about that. We decided we are going to paint the babies room so I'll post a picture once it's done (it might be awhile so be patient). We like the name Ryker Rustin Miller and it's top on our list right now. We have been trying it out to see how it sounds. Rustin and I have been busy with school and work. I started to BSN program up at Weber this semester for nursing and Rustin is studying Business. We are loving our house and are still working on the decorating but are just about finished. We are also thinking about selling Rustin's car it's a 1985 Nissan 300 Z i think, ha ha if you know anyone that wants a fun old sports car let them know ours is for sale. Rustin drew out for the Turkey hunt with his brother-in-law Dustin and cousin Cody, the hunt is in April and they are so excited.

We Bought A HOUSE!!!

Merry Christmas!!! We finally closed and the house is ours!!! We signed on Monday and got the keys today. This is what Rustin and I got for Christmas from each other. Best Christmas present ever. I'm way excited and can't wait to start moving stuff in. We are getting the carpets cleaned on Thursday at 4:00 so we won't be able to move furniture in until Friday. I have the babies room picked out and everything. We have been living with my parents in their basement for the past 6 months while we were looking for a house. It has been a blessing being able to live with them and save up. Thanks to my parents and Cory for putting up with us. Also thanks Marie Parks for all your help (she is one of our friends and was our realtor). She was absolutely great and so much fun to look at houses with and helped us so much. I'm excited to unpack all of our stuff again and believe it or not I'm excited to grocery shop and cook. Oh and I'm very excited about being able to park in the garage. This past year has been full of different adventures and I am thrilled about the new ones we get to start this year. Happy New Year to everyone and thanks to all of our friends and family. We Love You!!!

2008 in a nutshell...

2008:
January: Rustin and I started another semester of school again.
February: Rustin dislocated his shoulder playing church ball 7 months after his 2nd surgery. He will have to have surgery again for the 3rd time. Rustin got an MRI to try and see how to fix his shoulder.
March: Rustin and I went to St George to spend time with Grandma Veigel for Spring Break.
April: Ashley turned 22! Rustin got a CT scan on his shoulder to still try and figure out how to fix it.
May: Ashley graduates from Nursing school! She works her last shift at Primary Childrens. She started work at McKay Dee Hospital. Rustin starts another semester of school.
June: We move in to Ashley's parents house and start looking to buy a house.
July: We went to Lake Powell with Ashley's family. Rustin turned 23!!! Our insurance company accepts the U of U hospital and Dr Burkes!!!!! Woo Hoo!!! (He's the only Dr here that knows how to do the Latarjet procedure, they take the coricoid process and use that bone to graft and rebuild his shoulder socket). We see Dr Burkes for the first time for Rustin's shoulder. The Dr tells us he wants to graft bone to hold it in place. We went to Bear Lake with Rustin's family. We decide it's time to start trying to have a baby.
August: We went to Idaho with Rustin's cousins. We celebrated our 1st year Wedding Anniversary camping up in Logan and then went to Bear Lake. Ashley surprises Rustin for our Anniversary and tells him we are going to have a baby! Our nephew Miles was born. Rustin goes in for his 3rd shoulder surgery. He starts another semester of school.
September: We see our little baby for the first time and hear his heart beat.
October: We see the baby again and he his growing! Ashley takes the NCLEX-RN and Passes!!!
November: We find out we are having a Boy! We find a house that we love and put an offer in. Our offer is accepted and we start the loan process. We went to St George for Thanksgiving.
December: Ashley's belly starts growing fast and she is now showing. We are still working on the loan process for the house and are hoping to start the new year with a new home.

2008 has been full of different adventures. The Lord has blessed us so much and we grateful for this gospel in our lives. Thanks to all our family and friends for their support and love. We are excited for 2009 and the new things it will bring.

Crib & Kicks...

So first off we bought a crib. I'm way excited about it but it won't even ship out until 1/10/2009, so I won't be seeing it for a while. It's fun now that we know what we are having so I can start planning and shopping. So everytime when the baby kicks and I'm with Rustin I tell him to feel and as soon as he puts his hand on my stomach he stops kicking. It's very frustrating. The other day you could see him kicking on my stomach and he was doing it for quite awhile so I yelled at Rustin to come in the room and told to him watch and sure enough he stopped kicking right then. Last night I was sleeping (which seems like something I do alot now) and Rustin came in to get into bed and put his hand on my stomach and right then the baby kicked, Rustin kept pushing on my stomach and the baby would kick every time, it was very cool because I have been wanting Rustin to feel him for quite some time now. So I posted a picture of my belly because there have been quite a few requests for one. I didn't start showing until about week 21.

It's a BOY!

Yep it's a Boy!
(follow the little arrow)
Here is his spine and the back of his head!

This is his cute foot!

It's a BOY!!!

Today finally came and we got to go to the Dr's again and have another ultrasound. We're having a Boy! It was amazing to see him move around and all his organs and limbs developing. We counted his fingers and they are all there:) This experience is such a blast and something you can never imagine until you go through it for yourself. To feel him move around inside me and to get the ultrasound pictures and be able to see his whole body is unbelievable. You can see his little nose and lips. They showed us his heart, kidneys, bladder, diaphram, and all sorts of stuff. Then they showed us the blood going from the placenta through the cord and into the baby, and the blood going to the kidneys. The Dr told us everything is developing perfectly and we are right on track. The placenta, cord, amniotic fluid, and the baby are all normal. What a relief those words were to hear. They gave us a DVD of the baby so if anyone wants to have a movie night we have a fun one to watch!!! I feel so blessed to be able to be pregnant and have this experience and go through it with the best husband in the world. I Love You Rustin!

Number 1!

We won Layton City Womens Volleyball tonight. It was alot of fun we have 3 pregnant girls on the team and we still kicked trash! We won some sweet shirts :) But really they are pretty ugly. We are happy that we finally won and I'm sad I am out next season because I'll be pretty pregnant by then. Only 10 1/2 more hours and we find out what we are having! Woo Hoo!!! I'll post it tomorrow. (The 3 in the middle are prenant)

First Baby Purchase!

We went to Bukoos today to see if they had any baby stuff we needed and thanks to our friends Kere, Brett, and Clay we came home with a Pack N' Play for way cheap. They found it and came and showed it to us. I was SOOOO excited about it and couldn't stop smiling I made Rustin help me put it together when we got home. It is very cool. It has a sunshade and a changing table and it can vibrate and play music. There is even a place to put wipes and diapers. Now if only we could find a house to put it in. This Thursday we find out if we're having a Girl or a Boy. We are so excited, I haven't had an ultrasound since 13 weeks so I'm excited to see how much the baby has grown. I can finally feel the baby move inside me now, it took me quite awhile to figure out what was going on. Life is great and being pregnant has been a lot of fun for the both of us.

Halloween

Well I'm not very good at updating our blog.  Our ward had a Halloween party and it was a lot of fun, we borrowed our costumes from my Aunt and Uncle.  Rustin got to see what it is like wearing heals for a night, he was pretty good at it.  They had a rootbeer chugging contest, pie eating contest, eat a donut off a string contest, and lots more to do.  We went to Frightmares the next night with our friends Whitney and Mike, neither Rustin or I can ride the rides because of his shoulder and the baby, so we stood in line for about 2 hours to go through a 5 min haunted house, it was fun though neither of us had been to Frighmares and since we had season passes it was free, we'll kind of.  We stood in line behind a group of Jr High kids, spending 2 hours with them was way too long.  We created our own realty show as we waited in the line, it was like the Hills but we called them Farmington.  We knew who liked who and everything.

This was at 8 weeks.

Baby Miller

Well Rustin and I are having a BABY we're due April 10!!! I'm 13 weeks along and today we finally told everyone. Were both way excited and I can hardly wait. Yes it was planned:) So I made shirts for our niece and nephew's and for the first session of Conference and for breakfast we were with my family and for the second session and lunch we were with Rustin's family. We took my two nephews into a room and put shirts on them that said we were having a baby then let them go play it took my family awhile to figure out what the shirts said. Then for Rustin's family we took his niece and nephew and put the shirts on them and then had his niece walk out while I carried his nephew. It was alot of fun. Our baby is 6.5 cm and you can see his/her kicking around, you could see the spine, the legs and head. It was amazing!!!

Saturday, September 20, 2008

Well Rustin is playing in a Frisbee-Golf tournament today, i guess whoever gets the most hole in ones wins. A few guys from our ward are in it with him, I didn't even know this was a real thing till Rustin brought me to a course when we were dating. We hung out with Ali and Matt Howard (one of Rustin's mission companions) last night and went to eat at the Mandarin in Bountiful and then played Hearts over at their house, and Ali taught me how to Blog:) Ha Ha. She made it cute cause I could not figure it out! Thanks Ali!!! So Jared (my brother) and Ashley (my sister-in-law who has my exact maiden name, first, middle and last, Crazy!) announced that they are having a baby they are due May 8th. Rustin started physical therapy and everything is going good with his shoulder.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

This last weekend we went to Rustin's missonary reunion. His misson president owns a cabin that we went to and spent the night on Friday and hung out saturday till about noon. We babysat Rustin's cousins kids this weekend. It was alot of fun. They have a 3 year old girls and a 1 1/2 year old boy. We brought them to church and got a taste of what having kids is like, we were an hour late and only stayed for class and half way through sacrament.
Well I still can't figure out how to do this Blog thing but I'm trying. So here's whats new... Rustin had his 3rd shoulder surgery 2 weeks ago. Everything is going good they grafted bone to rebuild his socket. He starts physical therapy next week and isn't very excited. He started school the day before surgery and luckily got to take all his classes online.

We went to the Miller Family Reunion this weekend up in Bear Lake. We got there Friday morning after Rustin took an accounting test. We went up to a Glacier with some of the cousins and slide down the snow into the water, it was pretty cold but so much fun. We later went to the beach and Rustin pulled the little kids on the tube. We had auction that night after dinner and 2 of the cousins lip-sang to Miley Cyrus' "See you Again". It was so funny they had dance moves and everything. Saturday morning we ate breakfast, made a few crafts and headed home.
Well I decided to try and create a Blog for us, so it goes...
